Sea2Sky
Last weekend I headed across to Barmouth in North Wales to capture the Sea2Sky trail running event hosted by RunThrough Trails with The North Face & Sportsshoes.
Maybe it’s Olympic fever but recently, I’ve been completely captivated by sports again and that pursuit of what’s humanly possible. It’s all I can think about it. I’ve even signed up to my first marathon as a challenge and contemplating taking on the Snowdonia UTMB next year also.
My feed is becoming increasingly all about sports; whether it’s trail running, track & field, swimming, or tennis, it’s become infectious and it’s given me that creative itch. I love integrating humans into my work as the main subject, so thought I could combine sports photography with landscape photography in one by shooting the Sea2Sky event last weekend.
It was the first sporting event I had properly photographed and there were definitely some lessons learnt along the way but I was well and truly in my element the whole day.
Starting at 6am, I marched my way through the clouds to the summit of Cadair Idris where I looked for a few suitable compositions before the first of the runners arrived. Once I was happy with a few of the images I took, I threw myself back down the mountain as quickly as possible and drove across to Barmouth Beach where the finish line was.
Here’s a few images from the day that I was happy with. Safe to say, I’ll be shooting another trail running event again.
